A history of Katrina

I'm a fan of Douglas Brinkley, however I'm quite curious to hear how such a large volume on the history of an event can be produced so quickly, especially while there are so many for whom Katrina is not history, it is still happening to them everyday.

My copy came in the mail today. Read one chapter at random. Very good. Essentially, he's dealing with only that one week of the storm and appears to have interviewed a number of folks. I read the chapter about Oak Street Ace Hardware owner and it was a compelling read.
