NOPD shot man in back in Katrina aftermath

I'm sure it was an ugly scene all over town, not that shooting anybody in the back is justified. It's been said that New Orleans was like the old west in the days following the storm, and one of the top rules of the old west was never shoot a man in the back.

I'll be curious to see how this turns out. So much is unknown about what happened in those dark days after the storm. Full story here

 

My favorite New Orleans Residents return

Patience, Voodoo, Satchmo, Buck & Emma, along with the other penguins of the Aquarium of the Americas. For those who don't know me personally, I have an unhealthy obsession with penguins. They're coming back for the grand opening of the aquarium on Friday, another milestone for a city with many miles ahead of it on its recovery.

FBI raids Bill Jefferson's offices in DC. Things aren't looking good for the U. S. Rep covering most of New Orleans. Just think about that for a second. A Federal judge had to be presented with some pretty compelling evidence to issue a sealed search warrant for the offices of a sitting congressperson.
