Hurricane Katrina Aftermath (and other stuff I find interesting)

These people had to know that they were at risk of flooding living where they do. I mean, why else would they have to build levees to try to control the waterways? How silly that they would settle in those areas. Now, they're rescuing people from their cars that are stuck in the streets. It's not like this is the first time this has happened, the same stretch of levee broke in January. I guess the corps of engineers isn't that great after all.

Anyhow, I mean, I do feel kinda bad for them, but why should we as other Americans have to help them pay to rebuild thier homes? Shouldn't they have flood insurance for that? And I certainly don't want to pay more in taxes.
