Mitch Landrieu and national tourism industry leaders said the New Orleans hospitality industry can rebuild by leveraging Louisiana’s cultural assets, lobbying for federal financial assistance, and learning from New York’s comeback after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.We’re here today to announce our plan to rebuild the cultural economy of the State of Louisiana,” said Landrieu, whose office is in charge of state museums, parks and tourism advertising. “We have to rebuild the metropolitan area of the City of New Orleans because this area is the soul of America.”
